Burton Prunty Inducted into the Iowa Auctioneers Hall of Fame
Des Moines, IA – On February 4, 2017 the Iowa Auctioneers Association (IAA) inducted Burton Prunty of Allerton, IA into the Iowa Auctioneers Hall of Fame. Burton is a first-generation auctioneer. He graduated from the Missouri Auction School in the fall of 1963. During his career he has worked for the Chariton, Russell and Humeston Livestock Auctions and the Chariton Machinery Auction. He has sold from Boone, Iowa to Branson, Missouri.
Burton has always been very community oriented and he has done benefit auctions for churches, sick and fire victims, different county 4-H auctions, the Association of Fairs conference, school PTA’s, Pheasants Forever, the Turkey Federation and many more.
Burton is an IAA Past President as well as a past IAA board member. He belongs to the Missiouri, Iowa and NAA. He holds a realtor license in both Iowa and Missouri.
He and his wife Linda have four sons. His sons are now working with him in his auction business in Allerton, Iowa. Burton was humbled to be inducted into the IAA Hall of Fame and thanks his wife for all of her support over the years.
